We promise to work hard to achieve our goals for the program and to educate the players not only from the physical aspect of the game but learning how to work as a team. Our coaches will work hard to get all players to understand what we feel are the basic fundamentals that will help make our teams successful.
CC BASEBALL PHILOSOPHY
Our strategy for improving our players comes down to the 3 main points that ALL PLAYERS can CONTROL:
A - AItude, E - Effort, C - Communicate!
There comes great joy when coaching the game of baseball. We strive to teach and train our players the skills and knowledge of the game of baseball. We will stress the fundamentals and hard work needed to perform in the field of competition. Our teams will be well-prepared and hard-nosed. Having these skills and values will translate to the young men having the confidence needed in order to succeed on and off the field. Having a great attitude, being in control of individual Effort, and being able to Communicate on and off the field will help our boys go much farther in life than a simple game of baseball.
We also stress the significance of representing CC Baseball and the CC Baseball family in a manner that will demonstrate our sense of sportsmanship on and off the field. We will carry ourselves proudly and our actions and decisions will show to ourselves and to others that we are pleased to be a part of the CC Baseball family.
It is essential that the athlete in the CC Baseball program begins to develop an attitude that they will work to his fullest potential by creating an environment of intense training, discipline, sportsmanship, and respect for others. We as coaches and athletes together will join to prepare them for success as baseball players, honorable and well-rounded young men prepared for life during and aNer high school.
As players, they will be guaranteed a stronger appreciation of the game and a new belief in themselves and what they can achieve with hard work. If we all challenge ourselves to strive high, the rewards will come in the form of our goal; which is tournament wins.
CC Baseball Player Responsibili)es
In any team sport, discipline and dedication go beyond individual effort. These policies are designed to be responsible and fair yet help assure the priorities of team members regard- ing baseball, social responsibilities, and being a member of a cohesive team. It is expected that all players adhere to these policies willingly in order to continue to participate in baseball and to achieve our mutual goals.
Being a Coachable Athlete: An athlete with a good attitude is coachable. They want critical feedback from their coaches because they know it will make them better players in the long run. If they make a mistake, they learn from it and become better players. They always know they can get better.
The coachable athlete is an athlete who doesn’t criticize his coaches or teammates. Many athletes criticize coaching strategies and techniques and gripe about who is or isn’t play- ing. Coaches are there to help you – positive attitudes and good communication skills allow players to become better players and teammates.
Be a Good Team Player: Having a good attitude is a willingness to be a good team player. You must be willing to share and sacrifice for the good of the team. It is important that you want success for yourself, but it is hard to achieve without the support of your teammates. Success depends on teamwork and winning attitudes, sharing the same team goals along with their own individual goals.
attendance: APend all practice sessions and games. You cannot expect to participate in games if practice is neglected or missed. This is a CC Baseball must! This parBcipaBon decision is a coach’s judgment and out of the ordinary circumstances that are communicated early to the coach may be considered.
Be on Time! Arrival at all practice sessions should be 15 minutes early so you are mentally prepared to begin practice with proper focus – this includes stretching, equipment, etc. We do not want to waste the allowed Bme that is given to us.
Unexcused absences will result in consequences determined by the coaching staff.
Playing Time Policy
Playing time is a reasonable concern for all players and parents when choosing a team. CC Baseball policy is what is to be expected from any competitive program, yet we believe it to be fair.
Obviously, playing time is not going to be equal. That said, if a player is dedicated to the program, they will receive opportunities to prove themselves. We do not bring in players simply to ride the bench; if a player joins our program, he will have the opportunity to earn playing time based on his performance and the way he conducts himself.
With every age group, CC Baseball offers "Pitcher Only" spots to certain players. This means that a player might make the team, but as they're told after the tryout, their role will be as a pitcher and not a position player. This affects the number of players we keep on a roster.
Wins And Losses
In evaluating a team's performance, a team's record is often the first thing people take into account. However, CC Baseball does not evaluate its success by its record. Some tournaments have better competition than others, meaning a team's record is often correlated with its strength of schedule. Ultimately we do expect to be successful in terms of our wins-losses record, but our evaluation of each game is determined by our on-field performance and whether or not we meet our pre-determined goals. The talent level of our opponent will vary depending on the tournament, but our players are expected to execute the in-game goals in order for the coaches and organization to consider a game to have been successful. This ensures that our team and players are mentally focused, improving their baseball instincts, executing fundamentals, and ultimately improving individually every time they take the field.
